MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) is made of thermo-magnetic current limiting type and is available with type-C operating characteristics. We use more commonly Miniature Circuit Breakers or MCB in low voltage electrical networks instead of fuse.
The MCB has some advantages compared to fuse. It automatically switches off the electrical circuit during the abnormal condition of the short circuit. These items are generally used for residential and industrial purposes.
Isolators are switch disconnectors with independent manual operation capable of making, carrying, and breaking currents under normal circuit conditions which may include operating under overload conditions and also carrying currents under specified abnormal circuit conditions such as short circuits.
The isolator is an off-loading device that is suitable for domestic and industrial purposes.
Mini Changeover Switch are disconnectors with independent manual operation. These changeover switch switches are capable of making, breaking, and carrying currents under normal load conditions. These mini changeover switches should be backed by a suitably rated MCB or fuse that breaks the circuit in case of heavy overcurrent faults.
RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker), is an electrical wiring device that disconnects a circuit whenever it detects that the electric current is not balanced between the phase conductors. RCCB is a piece of essential current-saving equipment used to guard a low voltage circuit against the fault.
It comprises a switch device used to turn off the current when a fault occurs in the circuit. Fires and electrocutions are caused due to the wrong wiring or any earthy faults. RCCB is also known as ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker).
It contains a fuse wire in it which carries the short circuit current safely for a given time period. During this period, if the fault is removed, then it does not blow otherwise it will melt and remove the circuit from the electrical supply hence, the circuit remains safe. The common material which is used to make an HRC Fuse is glass, but this is not always the case. Other chemical compounds are also used in HRC Fuse manufacturing and construction based on different factors. Its external enclosure is made fully airtight in order to provide the effect of the atmosphere on the fuse materials. The major objection to HRC Fuse is the low and uncertain breaking capacity of the semi-enclosed fuse. .
